Leinster have won seven of the last eight matches, only losing in a dramatic away game to Benetton in the URC. In the last round, they made light work of the Ospreys to book them a home quarter-final in the URC. They scored a huge 10 tries in the game, only conceding two. Leinster had flown out to a 28-0 lead in the first 25 minutes.

Bordeaux have won their last three games in all competitions going back to their semi-final win against Bath. Their two wins since then have been by narrow margins. In the last game against Perpignan, it came down to two late penalties from Maxime Lucu in the last 15 minutes to win the game by five.
